Activities during the autumn holiday West Jutland

By Mia Vad, journalist and experience developer at Naturkraft

The days are getting shorter and the temperature is dropping. Autumn is upon us, but don't worry, the holiday is just around the corner! Take your autumn holiday in Jutland – the West coast is just as beautiful in autumnal weather, when nature’s forces come into play. But what can you do during the autumn holiday in West Jutland? Read on to discover our suggestions below.

What's happening during the autumn holiday?

There are plenty of things to experience during the autumn holiday, and there are always lots of exciting and fun activities in West Jutland when the schools are shut, where you and your children can enjoy learning something new.
At Naturkraft, we're proud to share knowledge about nature in a fun way that appeals to both children and adults. We believe that knowledge is an important part of the journey towards a more sustainable world. Our philosophy is that the more you know about nature, the more  you'll take care of it.

But learning about nature is far from boring. Come and visit Naturkraft, and enjoy a wonderful fusion of learning and fun experiences! For example, feel the gravity of a Zorbing ball and roll down the hill at full speed. Did you know that Naturkraft is the only place in the country where you can experience Zorbing balls?
Or go on an expedition with the whole family (a kind of treasure hunt with fun tasks). We change them on a daily basis, but you can experience four of our numerous exciting expeditions every day:

  • Compass
  • Temperature
  • Senses
  • Fly
  • Draw
  • Water
  • Light
  • Biodiversity
  • Wind
  • Photo safari
  • Groundwater
  • Birds
  • Magnetic
  • CO2 emissions
  • Rising water
  • Waste

We look forward to welcoming you to Naturkraft!

Outdoor autumn activities

You can experience the most beautiful colours in nature in autumn. Explore the many plantations  in West Jutland and bring a thermoflask with hot chocolate to tempt the children along too.

Or go on a trip to the North Sea and bring a kite so you can let off steam by running along the sand with it. See if you can lean against the wild winds on the coast – and if it’s a wind-free day, you can always try the wind machine in Naturkraft and feel if you can stand up against hurricane strength!

Indoor autumn activities

With the Danish autumn weather, it can be a good idea to have some indoor activities as a back-up plan. Fun indoor activities could be:

  • Board games with the whole family – for example, you could make a tournament.
  • Reading a good book aloud for children of all ages.
  • Bake a cake you haven't tried before and enjoy the smell as it wafts through the house.
  • Be creative and start making some Christmas gifts. This could be drawings, hama bead creations, paintings or homemade playdough.
  • Put on music and play musical statues in the living room – maybe you can even do a little choreography?

Naturkraft has both outdoor and indoor activities. On the website you can always see what special indoor events we have in the near future.

Free activities during the autumn holiday

There are plenty of good experiences to enjoy during the autumn holiday that are free of charge. Perhaps you and your family can rediscover some classic games, such as kick the can, spin the bottle, Simon says or who can eat liquorice laces the fastest.
If you’re more into relaxation, make a good cup of tea and listen to a podcast, perhaps with your family. Some podcasts are also suitable for children, and in Naturkraft’s curious universe, there are five sections of the podcast Children’s Climate Club. Here you can join 8-year-old Hugo and his friend Tanja Tingfinder when they examine e.g. computers, bees and plastic in relation to the climate.

Have a lovely autumn holiday – maybe we’ll see you at Naturkraft!
